Selection guide

Choose the right led matrix lighting configuration

Use these decisions to narrow the model range before controller, power, cabling, and mounting quantities are engineered.

Planning a matrix project

Layout · control · installation

Addressable LED matrix lighting arranges controllable light points in a grid for programmed visual effects. Start with the physical layout and the effect you need, then confirm the supplied panel format, pixel grouping, driver and connection requirements for the selected model. Share your project details with Pileds for a tailored quotation.

Layout and viewing goal

Rows · columns · viewing direction

Share a drawing, panel quantities, viewing direction and intended content. Record the physical arrangement separately from the software pixel map so the layout can be reviewed before configuration.

Pixels and control

Pixels · groups · colour channels

Confirm the number of independently controlled pixels per supplied panel, pixel grouping, colour channels and control order. LED count and independently controlled pixel count are not necessarily the same.

Controller and signal chain

Software · input · output

Identify the intended software or media server, controller inputs and outputs, and the panel driver and input signal. Check the complete signal chain against the documentation for the specific hardware; do not assume direct protocol compatibility.

Power and cabling

Supply · cable runs · connectors

Provide the supply location, cable lengths, connector requirements and distribution plan. Confirm the supplied model’s voltage and power before calculating cable and power requirements.

Installation and environment

Mounting · access · environment

Describe how the panels will be mounted, the available dimensions, the installation environment and access for maintenance. Confirm the supplied model’s protection rating before selecting it for an outdoor or wet location.

Immersive 3D Volumetric Mapping: Supports multi-directional light emission, perfectly translating 3D voxel animations and volumetric chases in MADRIX or media servers.

Standard Control Protocol: Fully supports DMX512 / Art-Net / sACN (optional SPI), enabling individual pixel control with smooth, flicker-free dimming (16-bit PWM).

The 3D LED Matrix is an advanced geometric pixel lighting fixture engineered for high-energy entertainment venues, stage productions, and immersive visual installations. Built with a rigid structural frame and precision LED optical diffusion, each side or pixel node delivers fluid 3D spatial visual effects. Seamlessly compatible with MADRIX, Art-Net, and professional lighting consoles, this 3D Matrix allows lighting designers to transform standard 2D pixel effects into captivating volumetric lighting shows.

Buyer FAQ

Questions to resolve before ordering

What should I provide to request a matrix-panel quote?

Provide a layout or drawing, quantity, intended effect, installation environment, desired control system and destination. Pileds can use these details to review a suitable configuration and prepare a quotation.

Can I use a matrix panel with MADRIX or an Art-Net network?

This depends on the panel’s actual input and driver and on the controller or converter between the software or network and the panel. Share the exact software, controller and fixture details so the signal chain can be checked. Do not assume direct compatibility.

How many independently controllable pixels does each panel have?

The count and grouping depend on the supplied model and configuration. Request its datasheet and pixel layout before calculating controller capacity.

What power supply and wiring are required?

Confirm the voltage and power for the supplied model, along with the proposed cable lengths and supply locations. Design the power distribution from those verified inputs.

Can the panel be used outdoors?

Confirm the specific model’s protection rating and installation requirements before choosing it for an outdoor or wet location.
