Choose the right led pixel tube configuration
Use these decisions to narrow the model range before controller, power, cabling, and mounting quantities are engineered.
Tube diameter and optical finish
20 / 30 / 40 mm; clear or diffused models
Use diameter and diffuser style to balance viewing distance, brightness, and whether individual pixels or a continuous tube effect should remain visible.
Control and mapping
SPI / DMX512; model-specific SD-card or remote control
Define the controller, channel order, pixels per tube, and addressing method before production so the physical tube map matches the media-server patch.
Voltage and power distribution
DC12V / DC24V
Choose voltage with tube length, wattage, feed cable, and installation access. Higher voltage may reduce current for the same power, but injection spacing still depends on the complete assembly.
Environment
IP20 to IP65 by model
Indoor decorative tubes and exposed architectural tubes require different sealing, connectors, and drainage. Confirm the rating of the finished tube and cable assembly.

What is the difference between a pixel tube and a pixel bar?
A pixel tube is selected for a visible linear or 360-degree luminous effect, while a pixel bar typically uses a directional profile for stage or facade lines. The exact beam angle, diffuser, mounting, and ingress rating depend on the model.
Can pixel tubes run from MADRIX, Art-Net, or sACN?
Yes, when the system includes a compatible network controller or decoder that converts Art-Net or sACN into the tube's supported DMX512 or SPI output. The tube, decoder, port count, and pixel map must be specified together.
What should be included in a pixel-tube RFQ?
Include tube count, tube length and diameter, pixels per tube, clear or diffused finish, RGB or RGBW, voltage, control platform, IP requirement, suspension or mounting method, cable lengths, and spare quantity.
